Sponsored Research Agreement (SRA)

The purpose of an SRA is to allow external entities to fund research in collaboration with SDSU employees. To establish an SRA, a request should be made to the Technology Transfer Office in addition to completing an internal routing form for the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP). The SRA specifies details of the scope and budget for the project as found in the internal routing form in a legally enforceable agreement format In addition, the SRA will specify other terms such as ownership of intellectual property and procedures for publishing results. In exchange for the funding provided by the entity, a limited Exclusive Option Agreement (described below) could be provided. Collaborative Research and Development Agreements (CRADA) typically serve a similar role as an SRA with federal agencies.
