Types of Agreements
SDSU is becoming increasingly successful in establishing collaborations with external commercial entities. Often, these collaborations are established outside the normal proposal submission process to State or federal government agencies. In general, external entities include for-profit companies, non-profit organizations, private universities, non-governmental organizations, foundations, and individual entrepreneurs. In most cases, these entities have interests in retaining proprietary and confidential information or ownership of intellectual properties. In order to establish a strong and sustainable collaboration with these external entities, appropriate legal agreements are often required.
