Sponsored Service Agreement (SSA)
The purpose of an SSA is to allow a collaborating entity to fund fee-for-service work at SDSU. Under the SSA, a service is provided by SDSU employees utilizing SDSU facilities or resources. If a project involves an external entity, a request for the SSA should be made to the Technology Transfer Office in addition to completing an internal routing form for ORSP. The SSA is similar to SRA but SSA should be used for a type of work that does not create intellectual property. Typically, an SSA is used for work where an external entity supplies protocols and materials and SDSU carries out the procedure. This agreement should not be used for projects that entail discovery, research, investigative, or inventive analytical methods.
